This is a formal letter of complaint about numerous issues I have had with my current Fitness First membership which I begun in September of this year. I anticipation you can address these issues and arrange for some compensation as the overall handling of my membership has been shockingly incompetent and I have found the staff at the Embankment subdivision unhelpful, unprofessional and very bad at their job of managing their customer service.
This whole ordeal started at the beginning of September when I and my partner (Stephen Burgess) attempted to be contiguous Fitness First at its Embankment branch in preparation for my Half Marathon at the end of October after hearing about a special offer from a friend. I dealt with a man called Jason who called himself a sales executive and who I now hear has left the branch. My reasons for signing a gym membership were so that I could visit both a Balham branch (where I live) and a Holborn subsidiary (where I work) of Fitness First. Had I wanted to only join the Balham branch I would have gone directly to them as I live 5 minutes away. Jason ensured Stephen and I a covey of times that the membership he could offer me would entitle me to visit any Fitness First branch in London apart from the Black membership branches. We therefore agreed to this decrease.
The problems started straight away. For one week every time that I visited the Balham branch I was told that my plan was not properly registered. I then phoned the Embankment branch and spoke to Jason and his colleagues 3 times where I was told ‘oh no there’s no ungovernable with you card, just tell Balham to try again’ or something to that affect. This was not only a pain but also prevented me from training for the Half Marathon- the very motive I had even contemplated joining a gym. GYMBOX launches recruitment drive for human weights machines
With unemployment figures on the up and karma and gloom an everyday part of the job market, a gym chain popular with celebrities is bucking the trend in a most unusual way by employing five new members of help as human weights. Unlike regular dumbbells, the human weights will come with an optional ‘motivation part’ where each human weight will shout words of encouragement to ensure muscles are worked to the max, at the gym goer’s beg. Otherwise they will just keep quiet and keep still as they are lifted.
