I'd like to watch or play cricket near London. What is the best way?

I'm trippng to London in July. Although I don't conscious much about cricket, I'd like to watch it at least. Is cricket really popular in the uk? I watch it easily in the park or somewhere? And I wonder if women all things considered play cricket.
I urge you contact Lords Cricket Ground or the Oval.
Whether cricket is popular seems to depend upon how well England are beating Australia!!! Women do conduct cricket but it is not usual. However we do have county sides as well as an national side.
for some details, contact www.lords.org
or contact:
Marylebone Cricket Join forces
Lord's Cricket Ground
St John's Wood
London NW8 8QN
General switchboard: 020 7616 8500
They will be very helpful!
They are having a women's cricket day on 14th August. I grasp it is after July but they may have details of other things.
Cricket can be both fun and boring, so watch out! Someone said it's a little like fishing - nothing can come about for ages then there is activity. I like watching cricket but do not play
Enjoy!

should t20 cricket be included in summer olympics in London in 2012?
Jul 25, 2008 by John J | Posted in Cricket
since its in London and cricket upon in England. I mean they have 2 grounds in London also the Lords and the Oval. maybe they could play there.
yes man it should be seriosuly i notion of its unfair that it isn't
I mean cricket is a very old and established sport
it is very very popular in most of the world except obviously america and i really dont see why other sports should be there and not cricket
I have the weight baseball is there and i dont see a single reason baseball is there over cricket
1) cricket is a big sports in many countries( enland sa new zealnad aus india paki etc.)
baseball is only big in the us and japan
2)cricket has been around longer than baseball
and nobody give me that cricket is a tortoise-like sport bull beacuse (although i like baseball) it is pretty darn slow too
SO I REST MY CASE

I need to organize a "curry" dinner for my cricket team while we are in London, near the Lords Cricket Ground?

We will be staying at a to hand hotel and would like something close by. I ate at "Chutney Mary's" a number of years ago. Are they still around? Are they any good today? I appreciate your suggestions. Cheers.
Chutney Mary is still around and still tremendously regarded, but quite far from where you'll be staying.
However, the people who own CM also own Veeraswamy which is the UK's oldest Indian restaurant and serves up great nourishment. It would be a taxi ride away from Lords.

You could also consider Meghna, which is a short down tools from Lords. They get excellent reviews and I had an excellent meal at their Hampstead branch. You can book online easily through toptable:
Observe the menu here: http://www.meghnagrill.co.uk/
Have a great trip :)

where is the best place to sit when booking seats for the oval london to watch cricket?
May 08, 2007 by twister | Posted in Other - Sports
I am a concluded cricket novice and for my boyfriends birthday i had the bright idea of buying some cricket tickets to watch england play at the ellipsoidal for him as he loves cricket.. however i dont have a clue where is best to sit, does anyone know which area i should book to sit in? thanks
it is always haler u avoid both the pavilion ends because half of the match u will be seeing the bowlers back
so choose a seat which is either side of the field
anyway for study match the crowd will be less so u can move around make ur friend dressed up in england colors so that he will get the notice of the cameramen
