Is it possible to do something to a post card that will prevent it from being scanned clearly?
Oct 16, 2007 by coolnana22000 | Posted in Scanners
We recently went to the New England states to see the leaves and lighthouses, and it rained most of the catch out. I bought some lighthouse photos and was going to scan them in and put them in my Maine folder, and basically pass them off as mine. After all they could have been mine if it hadn't been raining. I was in truth there at the lighthouse. :-) Anyway, when I went to scan them into the computer, there seemed to be some sort of "screen" that was covering the photo. Some would overview clear, and some would not, so I knew it wasn't the scanner or otherwise they all would have been bad. Can photos/post cards be doctored to prevent scaning?
yes,,, some have unfailing gloss or film that prevent scaning

Post office problems?
Apr 28, 2007 by nicecupofteanicecupofcoffee | Posted in Friends
Here in England we use a post service card and thats where benefits are put into and people take the money out with a pin number. Well my father is sick at the moment with a terminal illness. I take this spondulix out of the account as I am his main carer he cannot look after himself, and is bed ridden his money has accumulated to £10,000. And what I do is take out £400.00 each week some of it I pay for things he needs and put it in his bank account. I towards as if the people at the post office that remember my father when he is well is suspicious of me as I am taking a fast amount out each week. Then again I feel I dont have to insupportable reason why I'm taking out this money each month to them. Its making me dread going to the post office each week. This wealthy accumulated to a vast amount because my father stopped going to the post office when he became ill. And now as I am his main carer he can use this money on buying things he needs and paying bills. What would you do in this spot.
Not that its any of their organization what you're doing with the money but if it bothers you that much try making the comment next time you go get his money that your father has to many bills or that hes hoping to get sense of touch better soon something to let them know why your there. Most likely as they have gotten to know your father they have just gotten concern about him and his profit. I'm sure their more curious and nosy then suspicious so just put their mind and yours to rest.
On a more personal note, Illnesses in a dearest are always hard to deal with and my thoughts go out to you and your family.

Autograph from William Moseley?
Jul 27, 2008 by sundaeluna | Posted in Movies
If I sent my thus with an IRC(international reply card)--to buy stamps to mail it back-- and a pre-addressed envelope(to mail the autograph back to me--inside--) from Connecticut at a post mediation on June 11, 2008, how long will it take to get an autograph back???? To get to England it takes 1 week. So it's already been there for over a month. What should I expect??? Did anyone get an autograph from him before??? Any more advice... please add.
Thanks.
I got Georgie Henley's autograph. I wrote to her to ask if she could give me her autograph (I didn't send the stamps, shroud, etc.). It took about three to four months. I hope this helps.

postal orders? please help!?
Jul 27, 2008 by cheerfull_cherry_blossom | Posted in Personal Finance
I'm new to postal orders, and i'm upsetting to buy something on ebay with one. But the thing i'm trying to buy is in England, and I live in Ireland. Can I buy sterling postal orders at my local post responsibility? Or is there anyway I can pay for the item without a bank account or credit card?
It's all so confusing, please help!
Not accurate about postal orders in Ireland. Check with them.
But I think, any banks would do a money order or a bank draft in a transalpine currency and have you pay with your local currency.
Would that help?
I can bet, if a merchant takes postal orders, he would more willingly take a money array or a bank draft.
