Hi,
I am booming to London at the weekend and am looking for a nice english restaurant to go to. Not expensive, just does your normal english food, a intermingling of pasta dishes, pizza, or burgers you know a large variety but not too pubby.
Hope someone out there gets what I vile. Even somewhere that does a nice roast?
Traditional English... not too cheap but not too expensive. Somewhere nice and good for value.
Looking in the West End arrondissement or somewhere close to
Thanks
You could go to one of the Pub warm-hearted of places, cos they arent like a 'local' they're a bit classier, Convent Garden is the greatest for this and they do really good roasts

London restaurant open for dinner on 24 December?
May 21, 1884 by RichT | Posted in London
Any suggestions for a paraphernalia London restaurant open for dinner on 24 December (most seem to be closed for holidays) that would be good for entertaining family over from France?
You did not give a cost out range so I tried to be in the middle:

They are open at Christmas
Good luck

What was the London restaurant in the 1970s called where you paid what you thought the meal was worth?
Feb 03, 2009 by lesroys | Posted in London
There's a account on AFP about a restaurant called "Little Bay", and AFP is saying this is a "novel idea". But it's not a new perception - that other restaurant did it first, as far as I know, and there's also an Indian restaurant in New York today which does the same thing.
Googling is useless - does anybody muse on the name of this 1970s restaurant? It was very popular.
I don't think it was the same one, but well done for finding Just Around The Corner. This one sold up around 1979, and I think was more centrally located.
I'm not ineluctable if this is the one you're thinking of, but there used to be a restaurant on Finchley Road called 'Just Around The Corner' that let people pay what they memories was fair.
"...it is the only restaurant where YOU decide how much the meal is worth and pay accordingly. No fuss about bills and sharing, you scarcely work it out by yourself and pay at the end. In the 14 years the restaurant has been running the landlord claims he never had a disagreement over a bill. As a result, the service is superb (the waitress has been there for 3 years!)"
London Restaurant recommendation for cook it yourself?
Feb 21, 2007 by Asser | Posted in London
Hi,
I have a lodger from South Africa and would like to take him to a restaurant in Central or South West London that he would do the cooking himself, like a self cooking one.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Asser G.
I don't be familiar with of any where you do the cooking yourself, but I have walked past this one, it's along the same sort of lines:
