What font is used in the Greater London Authority logo and how can I get it?

The logo is at london.gov.uk
The logo is at london.gov.uk in the top left-hand
I don't think it's Gill Sans and I don't think it's the same as the London Underground font
Thanks for your take. I think the font is ITC Avant Garde Gothic Bold

If you are talking about the discussion London - it is some version of Avant Garde. The round O is a good tipoff. There are a lot of foundries and a lot of versions but it should be easy to come close-knit with faux bolding, etc.

The GLA in London was promoted by Livingstone of the Travail Party, a referendum was held to establish it in 1998 (approved by 72% of vote) - the Greater London Authority Act 1999 then passed through Parliament and received the Imposing Assent in October 1999.

The GLA is based at City Hall in London; it's responsible for the strategic administration of Greater London. ** It shares nearby government powers with the councils of 32 London boroughs and the City of London Corporation. It was created to improve the coordination between the specific authorities in Greater London, and the Mayor of London's role is to give London a single person to represent it.

Follow the source link for much more information so you will have a clear reconciliation of what it is and what it does.

Good luck to you!

when you say london do they meen the greater london authority or city of London?

When people say London they are chiefly referring to the whole of Greater London.

People refer to the City of London as 'the city' or 'the square mile'.

That's how it is within London anyway.

Are you aware of Brian Haw's 6-year protest against the war in Iraq in Parliament Square, London?

The Blair ministry passed special legislation just to target him, unsuccessfully. Now the Greater London Authority and the police are trying to get rid of Brian's supporters.

See pictures on this association: http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2007/08/378606.html

Do you believe in the democratic right to peaceful protest?

Yes I am and I property regards that man for his beliefs and fortitude as I would also for anyone else who stood up for what they believed in (even if I didn't agree with them).I suppose it must be the way that I was brought up - is that so wrong? -

Edit - And by the way "Gem" - read this on the link I give above - please don't let ignorance get in the way of rational debate -

"Brian started his 24/7 vigil in 2001 to disagreement about the suffering of Iraqis during the 1990s because of economic sanctions. He continues because of all those who have, and continue, to suffer as a result of the invasion and vocation of Iraq. In Oct 2004 The Lancet estimated that 100,000 Iraqis have died. In Oct 2006 it estimated that 655,000 people have died in Iraq as a denouement of the 2003 invasion (see more here).

And how many millions of other lives have been blighted for ever?"

Being against the war/appointment is *NOT* being against our troops nor is it "supporting terrorism".
I ask myself what God would think but that is my personal issue - everyone else must answer to their own conscience and that is what Brian Laws is doing - I regard the man.

You are being scammed. Buzz numbers that start anything like 44 70 are regularly used in scams which originate in Nigeria...

"Scam phone numbers in the Connected Kingdom (+44):

Most "419" scams using +44 70xx numbers involve emails that are sent from Nigeria and other West African countries, not from the UK! If you see a +44 70xx party in a 419 scam email it usually means you're dealing with criminals based in Nigeria.

UK phone numbers starting with '70' are "Special numbering" in the "Find me anywhere" range. Charges for calls to these numbers are not distance-dependent. They can tariff as much as UKL 0.50 (USD 0.90) per minute to call and can forward the call to virtually any phone number in the world. Forwarding numbers can be set up for open and completely anonymously via websites such as uknumbers.com.

In most cases when you call one of these numbers the phone that starts ringing will actually be a alert phone somewhere in Nigeria, as the UK number has been programmed to auto-forward calls to another number. These +44 70xx numbers are inured to as a redirector service to obscure the fact that the person taking the call is not actually based in Europe. The UK number is toughened to lend credibility to the scam."
