How much money should I save to travel to England and Wales for two weeks?
I scheme to travel from America to England for 2 weeks, but also visit Wales. I would be staying in Daventry, England hopefully. But as I have never been outside of the country, I am not too sure as how much long green I should save up for, other than a plane ticket. Any suggestions? Thank you!! ^^
Umm... I'd bet on about 90 gbp per tenebrousness (so around 140 US) in a hotel (for maybe a 3 star, but of course European standards are a little different, a 3 star in Europe is like a 2 in the US), and of certainly atleast 1000 on airfare. So much as meals, I'd say around 12 gbp (about 18 US) per meal if it's a decent one; as in not way food - but of course street food is always appreciated for a quick lunch of breakfast.
I'm not sure what train or bus fares would be from London to Wales - I'd try this website or google another online:
http://www.observations-wales.co.uk/wmap.htm
For cheap hotels and hostels I found a good site that may be of use to you:
http://www.eurocheapo.com/
It does a tuneful decent job finding lesser known/cheaper hotels and hostels. It sounds like Daventry is a smaller village so probably won't be as expensive as London.
So I'd say total maybe about 4500 - 5500 dollars US depending on how cheap or not you wanna be? Hope that helps you out.
How much does it cost to travel from England to France?
I am prevalent to study abroad at the University of Wolverhampton and I would like to know how much it would cost to travel from wolverhampton, England to Paris, France. Thanks.
Yes you can fly from Birmingham intercontinental airport to Paris with Fly Be for ВЈ34.99 Wolverhampton to Birmingham Airport by train ВЈ4.30 so ВЈ39.39 All in
Or a train would be ВЈ11.00 only ticket from Wolverhampton to London Euston with Virgin trains and From St Pancrass to Paris on Eurostar is as cheap as ВЈ44.00 so ВЈ55.00 all in and you get level in to center of paris with the plane you would have travel costs getting from paris airport to the center of paris.
But to get the fares listed above you desperate straits to book well in advance.
I would go for the train but if you like flying go for that
As you can see on the map
http://www.multimap.com/maps/#t=l&map=49.01278,2.55|11|4&loc=FR:49.01278:2.55:14|Charles%20de%20Gaulle%20Airport|A%C3%A9roport%20de%20Paris%20-%20Roissy%20Charles%20de%20Gaulle%20(Paris%20-%20Charles%20de%20Gaulle),%20%C3%8Ele-de-France,%20D%C3%A9partement%20du%20Val-d'Oise
Paris Charles de Gaulle Ariport is very a way out of Paris the Eurostar would get you right into the centre of Paris and might be cheaper if you add the coat of a taxi bus or train from Paris airport to the middle of paris which is about 10 Miles.
How long can a US citizen travel to England with a passport, but without a tourist visa?
I've had short luck finding the answer without paying ridiculous fees for contacting the British Consulate. I understand that WITH a holiday-maker visa I could travel to England for up to 6 months, but if I don't have one...?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Silly me. I found a local number to the nearest British Consulate, so no worries on contacting them...
You can be in England as a U.S. oppidan for up to 6 months without a visa. In your case, you only need to obtain a visa if you want to stay longer or if you want to profession in the UK. I don't think it costs much to contact the British consulate in the U.S. but you really have no reason to worry. There is no fee to pay, it is very easy to find the conform to on this site: http://www.anyworkanywhere.com/visas_uk.html

How long did it take a ship to travel from Philadelphia, Pa to England in the 18th century?
Also, due to the barter winds, what months could a passenger ship leave the colonies to travel to England?
leaving FROM Philly to England could be done any interval of year.it was Ben Franklin, in fact who figured out that not only to the prevailing winds blow from west to east up at those latitudes, but there was an multitude current that went that way too. We now know it as the Gulf Stream.
There are a whole bunch of qualifiers to tis answer but.....with good winds and the Sea loch Stream a typical colonial era passenger ship could do about 150-200 miles in a day. It's about 3500 miles from Point Henlopen to London, so 17 days for an exceptional passage and 30 for a good one.
Now light winds or winds from the east and 60 days would not be uncommon.......
