Whtat is the best English School in England, and in which city is it ?

- I require to improve my English language for academic purpose, my level is intermediate.

- Also I'm looking for nice city, data d fabric for students not expensive,

- I'm looking for high quality of teaching and prestigious school as well.

Tank you in prepay for all .

There are tickety-boo schools in the UK. And there are terrible schools, too.

You should look for
1- one that has been accredited.
2- one is well known for their teaching staff
3- a school that has good reviews.

In spite of the city, I wouldn't advice you to choose London. I'd suggest a smaller city but still come close London. You can get to savor the local life while being able to spend your weekend sightseeing in London. Looking for a credible school in the south would be great, in locations like Brighton, Hastings, Bournemouth, etc.

London, England schools for an english major?

Hey could dignitary explain to me what the difference is between a college and a university in England? Thanks, plus I have tried doing a lot of research on schools because that is where I want to go but I am so disoriented. Is there anyone out there who knows the area? Or knows of some good schools? Oh and I'm not loaded, so not the super rich schools either? I need help. I want to find a infuse with that is right for me and my major: english literature. I want to write. Thank you for any and all help that comes my way. Easy ten points to whoever helps me out the most.

University is what you refer to as college and college in this territory is an institution you go to between the ages of 16 and 18 to study for exams called A levels (up until the age of 16 we attend what you call 'highschool'). Your A level results impose which university you go to (i.e. the people with the better results go to the better universities, etc.). University is never called 'school' in this surroundings; school is something that kids go to.

If you want to get a good idea of which the good universities are I would suggest that you look at the Times university rankings as they are well respected. You can find the rankings at the associate below:

http://extras.timesonline.co.uk/tol_gug/gooduniversityguide.php

They include rankings from all over the UK but the main London ones have the word 'London' in their name (there are some more so I'd underwrite that you check the link to each individual university). You can also search the rankings by subject, so it would be worth searching for English Writings.

As for cost, I can't really advise you on that as our fees are heavily subsidised by our government and we only pay a fraction of the fees. Therefore universities aren't very regarded as 'super rich' as it isn't that much of a factor for us. However, as a non-EU student you would have to pay full fees. Most universities have details of the fees for foreign students on their websites.

One more aspect - our university system is different to yours and when at university we don't study a range of subjects before choosing to 'major' and 'minor' in two. When we apply to university we do so to investigate one subject and when we get to university that is all we study. Therefore, you would apply to study English literature and that is all you would study once there.

What is the best place/city in England to learn English properly?

I would cognizant answers about this as I really want to make sure that I go to the right place in England where I can find good English schools and people speak English suitably.

Thanks in advance.

English Schools question help please England 8 year old boy?

England 8 year old boy
My grandson who is impish at school and at home has been restricted to 1hour and 20 minutes school each day, 08:55 to 10:20.
Does any one know if the manner can do this without offering an alternative to meet his educational needs and or what are her options? I know he is bad and understand the schools stance, she tried to get him statemented and the followers said there was no need about a year ago.
What if any rights has she any help please. England
and i do feel for the school he is bad in class

It sounds as if you deprivation to get an assessment to ascertain the nature of his needs/difficulties. The school can make a referral for this. They should be able to provide him with advocate through the Schools Action Plus which is about supporting pupils who present with special needs but do not have a statement. The schools SENCO (special educative needs coordinator) should be able to support and advise you.
Do you know what his behaviour is triggered by, has he always been a difficult child to function, does he get worse after eating or drinking certain items, are there any other problems with his development or attention?
Hope you find out immediately. Good lick.

Is it true they still use corporal punishment in English schools?

Well I'm transferring to a boarding style in England this year. I've never been to England before but my friend told me they still use corporal punishment, is that true?
I'm not exactly a saint all the time so I'm kind of agitated, my grades are good but I'm always in detention.
If they do use it, is there anyway of getting out of it.
Help please.

Also I'm going to be in Year 9, Key stage 3, what does that vile?

No. It's not sincerely, they haven't used corporal punishment in decades in state schools. It was properly banned in private schools in the 90's I characterize as. I think your friend is just trying to wind you up. Don't worry about it, the worst you'll get is detention or tidy up duty. Although you wouldn't be worrying about it if you behaved yourself, would you.
Keg stage 3, is how we split up the education in Britain. Key podium 3 covers years 7,8 and 9. It's the first part of secondary school. Year 9 is similar to the American 8th group. (I'm assuming that's where you are from). I'm in Year 11, key stage 4.
You'll have a lot of fun here, enjoy.
