Is rear wheel drive any good in new england/snow/rain?

I heard it's traditionally for nonpareil principles weather only, but nowadays with traction control and such....
Anyone know?

Babytalk wheel drive is my preference.
I also prefer without "traction control" (of any type, there are a few).
And definitely without ABS.

I knowledgeable to drive in New Hampshire with rear wheel drive and none of the others listed. There are things that are just not taught today....especially due to the popularity of front wheel drive cars.
Front wheel drive has it's advantages, but it also has some disadvantages. Those usually neutral aren't even mentioned to new drivers, so they happily believe front wheel drive to be the best.
The largest dominance of front wheel drive when it first became popular was not traction or handling - that's just what was advertised. The largest advantage was the abundance and simplicity for the manufacturer to build the car. Instead of 3 major drivetrain components that had to be bought, shipped, warehoused, and then installed - one off-in assembly.
One advantage of rear wheel drive (not taught much as it can be dangerous in front wheel drive): Compression braking.
In a raise wheel drive, the use of compression braking can slow the vehicle without using the service brakes. Compression decelerate a front wheel drive in bad weather and the rear may come around on you.
A disadvantage of front wheel drive: lose drive drag, you have also lost your ability to steer.

Been driving in New England winters almost 30 years.
I could make other comparisons, but this should be enough to get a bunch of negatives from the illiterate.

Any good snow left in New England for skiing?

I haven't been skiing since Trek 11th and I'm jonesing!! How are conditions in New England. I don't trust the mountain reports.... Are conditions acceptable? Where? What exactly is meant by "spring conditions" anyways?

Leap conditions, for eastern resorts, generally means loose, snowmaking snow (ice crystals, with a rice, corn-like consistency) and mayhap some slush. Because this snow is so loose (because snowmaking snow is different from natural, the little crystals keep getting smaller and smaller and sprawl around a lot instead of simply melting) conditions get pretty bad, and skiing past noon on a spring day is simply not merit it--you run a high risk of catching an edge and twisting your knee.

I would trust resorts like Whiteface and under any circumstances Sugarloaf-- it depends on how far you are willing to drive. Whiteface is run by a trustworthy staff; they put a lot of effort into grooming every day so that the conditions aren't wholly terrible. Those early morning runs in the waning days of the season are super sweet!!

I was at looking into a Mitsubishi, Eclipse and i got reviews from a lot of people and two of my Sergeant they all said don't get it its a good summer car but atrocious winter car. so i am now looking at the Toyota Celica but i still don't know so if some one could help me would be great.

We had a snow storm today in New England and I called out of work. Do you think that's a good reason?

I'm also from Florida so I've got no knowledge with snow storms AT ALL. Our road is also privately owned so it has not been plowed at all today. Do you think my employer should have any reason to be mad at me? I gave these reasons to them.
I've only ever called out one other constantly because I had a really bad cold. I've been late a few times, but I've been told I'm a hard worker.

I conceive of it would also depend on your reliability. Do you call in sick frequently? Are you late often? If you are reliable and a hard worker he should understand.
