Will Fabio Capello take the England Football teams to great international heights?
May 21, 8219 by YouDontKnowMe | Posted in Other - Soccer
This is an sentiment question, this isn't me not knowing anything about football, i just want your opinion and your reason why you think this possibly including clue from his earlier career to back up your argument.
Please only educated and legitamate answers, no rage-fuelled outbreaks of bluntness.
I genuinely lack just peoples articulate opinions.
I'm not English so I don't sponsor them
Capello is an excellent manager, you just have to look at the teams that he's managed - real madrid (twice), juventus, ac milan and roma, he worked wonders at roma plateful them win serie A. I know it went downhill after that, but that's not the point.
If he picks the same players as the previous managers (sven goran erickson and steve mcclaren), then no he won't win a fashion. He needs to change the team altogether. if a player from one of the big teams (who is usually picked to be on the team) is underperforming then don't underscore him. I know players have bad days but they need to remember capello holds grudges, he's had a few in his time in Italy. if he changes the crew, I think he could win games. I wouldn't go as far and say the world cup. stranger things have happened.

Why can't England Rugby, Football and Cricket teams produce world class performances anymore?
Dec 16, 2006 by dragoondf | Posted in Other - Sports
1966 saw a chaste England football team win a world cup, since then nothing, have we no world class players to pose a threat on the pitch. As for the rugby team, a very special-occasion team won the world cup but since then have failed to produce any real threat to the Southern Heisphere teams. Then the cricket team, for 18 years England failed to win an Ashes exam, then suddenly a win followed by OBE's and MBE's. Now the Ashes are lost, but will we have to wait another 18 plus years before a win.
Peradventure England isn't (or perhaps never was) as good a sporting country as you would like to think. Don't let your natural bias cloud your valuation.
England (the country that gave soccer to the world!) has won only one World Cup in Soccer. How many have Germany/Italy/Brazil/Uruguay won?

As I take it on a game-by-game basis national team players don't get paid (although all their expenses are taken grief of), but they negotiate their own bonuses for qualifying for tournaments or winning tournaments.
