Is it doable to sustain a growing economy AND a declining population?
Let "growing frugality" mean GNP.
Let "declining population" mean fewer citizens.
So I guess if we can find an equation that makes GNP per capita better, while the number of people decreases, then the answer would be "yes".
Let Productivity increase faster, relative to the army of people that decreases. Then the GNP per capita would increase.
Is that realistic? Not really. Generally GNP is assumed related to the amount of capital investment in effort. But there is a limit to this.
